Meditation

Sometimes I just sits and thinks; sometimes I just sits! ☺️

Now don’t turn off yet! This will take only a minute to read! 😉

I know we’re being blasted on every side about the importance of meditation at the moment.

I want to talk about something that has changed my life and that the devil hates so much that he is really trying to muddy the waters and obscure the real with counterfeit.

Meditation is God’s idea. More than that it is His command for every believer! We are commanded to watch over our thoughts and self-talk, and to meditate day and night (in His Word).

This is not in the way that the world teaches on meditation. It is not accomplished by "emptying" your mind of thoughts, and focussing on something deep inside or on your breathing or something else.

If we are not meditating on the Word of God, or on God's character or His ways and/or His past deeds, we are not meditating in the biblical way God intended and planned for us. The answer is not within. The answer is in the Word. This is the healing, refreshing, renovating, renewing and restoring secret for the believer. His Word is truth, the answer and healing.

I have spent many years (since I was a teenager) meditating on His Word, day and night. And it all began when God answered my question, “How on earth am I supposed to meditate at night (as well as sleep)?”. (The answer is another post). What He told me changed my life and it is that which the devil wants to keep from every person currently wrapped up in fear, worry and panic.

Great God-given dreams, peace (the world cannot imitate), fresh minds, revelation from Heaven, and just a plain gift of great sleep are some of the things inherent in a life of one who discovers the power of meditating in the Word.

And those who've done the STS course, you've been given a gift - not directly taught by STS - that takes biblical meditation to the next level. Taking a section of a Bible passage or story you have learned, and using those STS questions, is a night and day difference and a gift to the one who meditates, as you drop off to sleep!

Take things to the next level by meditating in His Word and doing it by night (while you sleep) too!

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” ~ Psalm xix 14
