They Were Excited To See Us!

Pastor Simon Matovu from Fintona and his wife Zoe with two leaders in our team greet the Kampala crowd

With two nights and one whole day of travel behind us we reached Kampala (Uganda) on Wednesday night and finally to bed at 04:00 or so yesterday morning. One short sleep brought us further into our royal welcome as members of our hosting church in the city continued to receive us with love, kindness and warm hospitality.

Last night we joined 16,000 others gathered in a large open space to worship the LORD, seek God and listen to a wonderful sermon by the lead pastor here—Grace Lubega. Various members of the team encountered the LORD in a very powerful way and Grace took time out to welcome us after his sermon finished and the meeting was drawn to a close.

Driving ‘home’ in the bus there were few who spoke as the message continued to ‘percolate’ in our hearts and the impact of what we had just experienced sank deeper in our lives. Tears of healing and response to the LORD’s hand amongst us were still evident as we travelled along and as some of us debriefed some more for an hour or so back at our lodging.

About forty people came forward to receive the LORD in their lives at the end of the service.
