Family Touch in the D.R.

We have been in the Dominican Republic for two weeks today and have been excited by some of the ministry opportunities the LORD has given us.

One of those events was meeting our Dominican family (on my wife’s side) shortly after our arrival in Santo Domingo.

However, it was not all happy. One of my wife’s relatives was clearly in a weary and dry place. With multiple health issues and a very evident, shoulder drooping weight being carried, we were very surprised and I personally was very shocked by the person I saw who one decade ago was looking and acting entirely different.

It was therefore a major blessing to see the change in this relative after my wife had a few talks, some prayer times and shared some exhortations from the Scriptures.

Literally, the very next time we saw this relative, we were looking at a very different person. Gone was the droopy and weight-bearing look. There was even a spring in the step and a bubbly attitude about them. They even stated that they were not going to return to the clinic again for more exams and endless medicines, “because there is nothing wrong with me and so nothing to treat”!

We are amazed at the change, though not that surprised as the LORD is true to His Word and, once His promises are believed, transformation inside and outside have to take place.
