Fallen off the planet?
It’s been over a month since our last post, and the silence on our end has been predominantly due to a lack of internet access. Finally, after some aggravating days, and many hours down at Ethio Telcom in Addis Ababa, we have what appears to be a slow, but working Wi-Fi connection. Soooo … time for a wee update.
Since our last post Amarilis and I have been running training events in Guatemala for Simply the Story (STS), have spent time in the Californian desert, working on various projects and preparing for three months in Africa, and my dear wife snatched a quick trip to visit her family in the Dominican Republic, skirting round Hurricane Dorian not once, but twice. We have also flown back over the Atlantic to Dublin, meeting our two oldest daughters there and flying on for some family time provided for us in an amazingly unique and blessed way in Oman.
Returning from the Middle East on 15th September, we spent a night in Dublin airport and flew out the following day, via another overnight in Istanbul, to Ethiopia, where we are currently based (until just before Christmas) serving, researching and learning from what our STS Africa director has been doing here with STS training and Oral Bible Schools for several years.
Hopefully in the coming days we shall post several ‘Kodak moments’ from our time and what we are seeing here in East Africa. Sadly, our planned video updates will have to be on hold due to the poor Internet service and weak signals here. More soon …
