What Are You Dreaming About?
What are you dreaming about these days? (In your sleep, I mean). Are you dreaming yucky stuff, even some swearing? Do your dreams scare you? Are your nights restful and even refreshing for spirit, soul and body?
If not the latter option, perhaps it would be good to check your ‘intake’. What are you listening to in the day? What are you listening to or telling yourself in your self-thoughts?
We talked about meditation in the Word a while ago—see previous posts on that—but one thing, lately, I have really stepped up my day and night meditation. Nothing has changed from the method (mentioned in those previous posts), but I am seeing such amazing results at the moment.
For those of you following this blog, I thought a ‘refresh’ in this area might be helpful and timely. Coming into January we can sometimes have an overdose of films in our brains or depressing thoughts in the grey, cold months after the festivities of Christmas are over.
I heard a dear man of God say off the cuff recently that there is never a moment in his conscious life in any day that he does not have immediate access to a verse in his heart and mind. I decided to step it up a notch in this regard and have been much more discerning about what I am listening to and also always have some verse of the day or week at hand to chew over at any time and the results have been spectacular. In the car, waiting in a queue (in line), pause moments in the day, as I go to sleep, etc.
I suppose it is what the Bible calls being transformed by the renewing of the mind—perhaps the content for another blog post—but I have been sleeping with increased refreshment and my dreams have been of preaching, praise and all sorts of other fun stuff. I have not checked with my wife lately, but it could be that I have even been preaching, singing or praying out loud in my sleep too!
Try it 😉
