When your peace gets crinkly

Sometimes the options are mind boggling and the possible paths are so many that you just get worn out trying to figure what road(s) will lead to the right destination and which are the ones that will lead you away from your goal. 🤯

We moved to Monterrey in early February and sometimes when we are trying to find a place for the first time we can be so helpless and the route so confused with multiple streets and highways all careering off in different directions that not even the GPS is of any use!

Our story at least three times since being here, including again today.

As we started the week, and met with our oncologist on Monday, we thought we had it all straight, but as yesterday wore on I began to get a really unsettled feeling in the pit of my stomach. Something wasn’t right. All the roads looked good, but none of them felt right.

As I was praying I eventually thought about it so much that I became totally overwhelmed. Where had that peace from Monday night gone?

This morning, having decided last night to give it all over to Jesus and to sleep on it, I rose with a slight apprehension, which I dispelled with an audible prayer expressing trust that today was a new-grace-morning. I met with my dear wife and we prayed together, and as we talked we knew which road was the right one and the peace all flooded back.

By the end of today, as I go for the last pre-operative test (a cardiogram), we had set up a pre-operative immune system boosting treatment in southern Mexico and have flights booked for Monday morning to the cancer treatment centre that will be home for the next 3 weeks.

The story continues. We are sure glad to have that Voice behind us saying, “This is the way; walk ye in it!”
